Photographed in the South Korean port town of Busan, Jun Abe's _Busan _culminates a collection of photographs taken over three days in March 2002. Here street scenes of the port town's landscape fill the pages of his 2014 published photobook. The black and white photographs of his wanderings and encounters echo the textures and patina of his other photographic works, visually ambigious to its references to time, Abe's images create a certain fluidity within the constructs of time itself. The images could be seen to have been taken from anywhere between 1960s till now and what rings true throughout the publication is his uncanny abliity to reflect scenes which temporarily connect his hometown Osaka and his photographed subject in a moments snapshot, blurring again the roles and disparities between photographer and the photographed throughout his work.
