Punctus Contra Punctum
After several years spent selling photographs to my friends,
I had exhausted all potential customers.
That’s when I came up with the idea of a photo gallery,
following in the footsteps of Man Ray.
Kyoji Takahashi
The 22 works brought together for this photo collection were taken on weekends by Kyoji Takahashi over a one-month period from September 7 to October 6, 2013 in a temporary studio set up in the basement of the bookstore ON SUNDAYS. Persons to be photographed were recruited from the general public, and in the end pictures were taken of 42 individuals. The photographic process was made open to the public for anyone to observe. Despite the feeling of tension present during each session, the atmosphere was pervaded by the intimate relationship between photographer and photographic subject.
