A Piece of Ocean
Including text by the late Ichiro Hairu and Akifumi Ueda, Tamotsu Yamaguchi's _A Piece of Ocean _contains visually stunning images which are at the same time familiar yet completely alien. The series of monochormatic images taken along Chiba's Boso Peninsula present various portraits of rock formations, with varying surfaces and forms mutated and transformed through the slow effects and erosions from the surrounding environment. The images propel the imagination into a world far beyond the limits of Earth, a distinct and vivid study on land, its forms and shapes.
