Yasuhiro OGAWA
小川康博
Born in Chigasaki, Kanagawa prefecture in March, 1968. B.A. in English literature from Kanagawa Univ. in 1989. He started photography at the age of 23 hugely inspired by the work of Sebastião Salgado. He spent years traveling around Asia, Africa and Central Asia with a camera in my hand, and he held his first photo exhibition “Futashika-na-Chizu” at Kodak Photo Salon, Tokyo, in 1999. This work won the 37th Taiyo Award, the award for promising young photographers. This award-winning decided him to pursue his career as a professional photographer. He published his first photobook “Slowly Down the River”(Creo Publishing) in 2008, and he won the new-comer award of The Photographic Society of Japan with this book. He is represented by Blue Lotus Gallery, Hong Kong.
