Japanese photographer, known for his advertising photography for JR East, Nissin Cup Noodles (Schwarzenegger), Maglite, MUJI, and others. He was in charge of still photography for Hirokazu Kore-eda's film “Phantom Light,” and together with Kaoru Kasai, the film's title work and advertising art director, he published “ESUMI,” a collection of photographs by Makiko Esumi, the performer.
One of her former assistants was photographer Mikiya Takimoto.
Often uses large format cameras, especially 4x5 (Sinogo) with negative film

1972 - Joins the Photography Department of Osaka Advertising Institute
1976 - Becomes independent and moves to Tokyo to establish Tamotsu Fujii Photography Office
