Born in 1956, Tokyo. When she was seventeen she met Yasuko Takahashi, the first fashion stylist in Japan, with whom she would study under whilst attending the Kuwazawa Design School. She has been actively working as a freelancer since age 22, mainly in the field of advertising, expanding her boundaries into magazines and stage costumes among other genres. Nakamura has also been active as an essayist since 2001. In November 2014, she presented the inaguaral Photography & Talk show event "70s Genfuukei Harajuku" and the second installment in 2015.
