Mayuko Ukawa was born in Osaka. In her professional career, she primarily works as a portrait photographer for advertisements and magazines. She also serves as reviewer and juror for photography-related events. In her artistic work, Ukawa explores the relationship between cities and people. Her solo exhibitions include Out of the Garden (Canon Gallery Ginza & Umeda, 2013), Rhapsody in Blue (Canon Gallery Ginza & Umeda, 2017), Laundromat (Fujifilm Photo Salon Tokyo & Osaka, 2021), Wonderlaund (Visual Arts Gallery, 2021), Wonderlaund (Irie Taikichi Memorial Museum of Photography Nara City, 2022), and Portraits (Place M, 2023). In 2021, she published her debut photobook Wonderlaund.
