Mari KATAYAMA
片山真理
Born in 1987. Born in Saitama Prefecture and raised in Gunma Prefecture.
She has been involved in sewing since her childhood. Due to a congenital limb disease, both of her legs were amputated at the age of 9. In 2005, while still in high school, she won the Encouragement Award at the Gunma Youth Biennale '05. Since then, she has consistently exhibited her works, mainly self-portraits with prosthetic legs, but also sewing, collages, and objet d'art. She also works as a singer and model.
In 2011, she started the "High Heel Project" and has been wearing high heels on stage as a singer and model.
