It Don’t Mean a Thing
Selected by browsing the bookshelves of late photobook collector Christophe Crison, this second entry in the photobook series titled The Gould Collection sets photographs by Saul Leiter against a New York short-story written by Paul Auster.
More than half of the Leiter photographs in the book have not been published before. They are both colour and black-and-white images, shot between 1947 and the end of the 1970s. This dual-language edition includes Paul Auster’s story ‘It Don’t Mean a Thing’ in English and in Japanese translation (by Motoyuki Shibata).
