Born in Shimane, Japan in 1960.
Became interested in darkroom work in photography in 1974. After studying photography at university and working for a publishing company, he returned to his hometown. Studied under photographer Shoji Ueda. Member of “Yin to Yang,” a photography magazine from rural areas. He has attracted attention for his unique black-and-white works, which utilize the strong habitual depiction by Holga camera.
Held his first solo exhibition in 1987. Since then, he has held numerous exhibitions.
