The photographer Sho Shibata was born in former Ikarigaseki Village, Minamitsugaru county, Aomori Prefecture in northern Japan in 1981. His first solo exhibition Haikei Shiniyuku Kisetsu (Dear dying season) was held at Island Gallery in Kyobashi, Tokyo in 2015. Later, his other exhibitions Tsutetsu (Tsugaru Railway), Tsugaru Saiko (Reflections on Tsugaru), and Shikai Furyo (Blurry Vision) were held in 2016, 2017, and 2018 respectively, and his unique representations have been attracting growing attention. His latest publication is the first photo book Reflections on Tsugaru, published from Michioto Publishing in 2019.
