Japanese photographer. Born in Funabashi City, Chiba Prefecture. Graduated from the School of Commerce at Meiji University.
Worked as an assistant to Akira Gomi and German photographer Yogan Theurer during their visits to Japan. 1990, at the age of 24, he became a freelance photographer and was in charge of Mr. Children's first million singles “Crossroads” and “Innocent World” [source needed] and witnessed their breakthrough.
From 1995 to 1997, he took a break from work to travel around the world. After returning to Japan, he worked mainly in fashion, music, and advertising.
In 1999, he made his debut as a photographer with “Ride Ride Ride” [source needed]. The book, a booklet-like compilation of his round-the-world journey, was enthusiastically received by some as a book that focused on travel and love, which was different from a “self-discovery” journey [source needed].
Her gravure photography, which later formed one of the images of Meisa Fujishiro, began with “HIROSUE, HATACHI,” a book created to commemorate Ryoko Hirosue's 20th birthday, and since then, she has created about 80 photo books with numerous idols and actresses as her subjects. He also produced the first photo book of Arashi. He photographed the cover of Asahi Weekly for seven years.
In 2003, he won the Kodansha Publishing Culture Award for Photography for his “Shincho Mook Monthly Series. In the same year, he began working mainly for magazines such as SWITCH, and also began his writing career around this time.
Moved to Hayama in 2005. As a novelist, he published “Crater and Big Tits,” “Drive,” and “Nobody Dies: A Love Story. He also published a short story “Resistance” in “Shincho. Published “Passing Girls” and “With Love” as a collection of essays. Mou, I'm Going Home,” which depicts his daily life with his wife, went into its 10th printing [source needed]. There is also a sequel, “Mou, I'm Coming Home 2,” which depicts the family after the birth of their first son. His “Flesh,” in which he stayed in South America for a month and photographed 30 nudes, won an ADC award and was highly acclaimed from a design standpoint as well.
In 2011, he moved to Okinawa. He took a break from creative activities to live a life of a househusband, focusing on raising his children. He tried an agricultural lifestyle and studied many healing arts in Thailand and India.
In 2016, he returned to creative activities with “SKETCHES OF TOKYO,” a series of 53 nudes shot in black and white at a high-rise hotel in Tokyo. Ao Ao,” which she was working on at the same time, was published as her first collection of landscape photographs.
